Friendly Tips to Riviera Maya

Riviera Maya has begun to be recognized as one of the best gay-friendly tourist destinations in the world. A place where you can express yourself and enjoy the freedom of being yourself in different cosmopolitan destinations such as Playa del Carmen and Tulum, surrounded by the turquoise blue of the Mexican Caribbean.

There is a vibrant energy every year, excellent nightlife, restaurants with high-end gastronomy, boutique hotels and the famous and always busy Fifth Avenue full of hotels, clubs, bars, restaurants, cafes and shops.

If you visit Playa del Carmen and Tulum, do not miss the best spots recurred by the local LGBT community and tourists:

1. Club 69 is the only gay bar in Playa del Carmen with shows, strippers and varied music. Ideal for weekends or after a walk along the busy Quinta Avenida and make a stop at the spots of the week..

2. Every Wednesday is a Friendly Night at Mina 34. Gathering our community at night, it is the place to have a few cocktails, sponsored by Absolut Vodka, and start the week hanging out with friends and making new ones, both local and tourists.

3. On Fridays, Reina Roja and Friendly invite you to sin, starting the weekend at this iconic hotel. Apecar is the Friendly party aimed at our community, creating the ideal stop to have a drink or for it to be your meeting point at night. From 8 pm to 1 am, the bar, lobby and restaurant “La Bien Querida” become the gay spot of Playa that always hosts a guest DJ. Dressing up as your favorite sin will always be the ideal dress code.

4. In Tulum don’t miss the Fruity Friday nights. Every Friday this Queer party will be the best alternative to dance, drink and meet new guys. You can also enjoy every day the sunset bar located in downtown Tulum.
